Caring for Your Glass Bangles: Do's and Don'ts

Glass bangles are more durable than they look, but a few habits make a real difference in how long the colour and sparkle last. **Do** put your bangles on after you've finished with perfume, lotion and hairspray, not before — those products dull the finish over time. **Do** take them off before washing dishes, swimming or sleeping, since prolonged water contact is the single biggest cause of a dulled or cracked bangle. **Do** store them flat or on a bangle stand, away from other jewellery that could scratch them. **Don't** stack them onto your wrist by force — let them slide on and off gently, working over a soft towel or carpet so a dropped bangle doesn't shatter on a hard floor. **Don't** use any liquid cleaner, alcohol wipe or ultrasonic jewellery cleaner on them; a dry, soft cloth is all they ever need.
